Sustainability

MISSION STATEMENT

Craftsmanship deserves a place in the modern home. At Varini Studio, we believe sustainability begins with how a product is made, why it exists, and how long it is designed to last.

Our approach focuses on creating purpose-led pieces made to endure — aesthetically, materially, and functionally. We work to support skilled makers and time-honoured production techniques, helping to preserve artisanal knowledge while adapting it for contemporary living.

We are committed to reducing our social and environmental impact across our supply chain and continually review how we can do better. We see this responsibility as ongoing work, not a static claim.

PRODUCT

As a product-led brand, sustainability begins with design and material choice. We prioritise durable, high-quality materials and considered manufacturing techniques that allow our pieces to age well and remain functional over time. Wherever possible, we seek to work with suppliers who share our values around quality, fair working practices, and responsible production.

FREIGHT & LOGISTICS

Our supply network spans Europe and other regions, which means logistics play a meaningful role in our environmental impact.

We actively prioritise lower-impact freight options and limit air freight to situations where alternatives are not viable. Freight remains a key area of focus as we continue to improve how our products move through the supply chain.

PACKAGING

Packaging represents a significant part of the environmental footprint for any interiors brand.

We prioritise recyclable packaging materials and aim to reduce unnecessary components wherever possible, while ensuring products arrive safely. Where protective materials are required, particularly for fragile items, we continually review alternatives and improvements as materials and solutions evolve.

Packaging is an active area of development for Varini Studio, and one we intend to keep improving as the business grows.

CARBON EMISSIONS

Producing physical objects inevitably creates an environmental footprint.

While we cannot eliminate this entirely, we are committed to understanding and reducing our impact as our collections and operations evolve. Improving visibility across materials, production, and logistics is an ongoing priority, enabling more informed decisions year on year.

As part of our long-term approach, we aim to improve how we measure and understand our environmental impact, using this insight to guide future decisions and improvements.

COMMUNITY

People sit at the centre of our work.

We aim to foster a respectful, inclusive, collaborative culture and value long-term relationships with makers, suppliers, and customers. Listening, learning, and evolving together is fundamental to how we build Varini Studio.

LOOKING AHEAD

We’ll never be perfect, but we commit to improving.

Sustainability at Varini Studio is an ongoing process of learning and refinement.

As the studio evolves, we focus on setting clearer internal benchmarks, increasing transparency where possible, and making more informed decisions across product design, packaging, and logistics. These priorities reflect our current direction and long-term intent, recognising that responsible practices develop over time through continued evaluation.

As a founder-led studio, we aim to work with suppliers and makers who value quality, fairness, and responsible production. Our goal is to build long-term relationships based on trust and transparency, while continuing to learn how to improve our practices as the business grows.
